About Us
A registered public charitable trust and society from Hirapur, Nashik, committed since 2010 to rural education, health, women's empowerment and a cleaner environment.
Our Story
Jai Hanuman Gramvikas Samajik & Shaikshanik Sanstha was founded in 2010 at Hirapur (Daraswadi) in Chandwad taluka of Nashik district, Maharashtra. It was registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 on 29 November 2010 (MH/839/2010/Nashik) and as a public trust under the Bombay (now Maharashtra) Public Trusts Act, 1950 on 12 May 2011 (F-12594/Nashik).
The name reflects what we do: Gramvikas (village development), Samajik (social welfare) and Shaikshanik (education). Our founders saw young people leaving the village for want of good colleges, families travelling hours for basic treatment, and women with skills but no route to income. The Sanstha was formed to change that from within the community.
Today an eleven-member board of trustees guides our programmes, while our auditors, bankers and statutory registrations keep us accountable to donors, government and — above all — the families we serve.
What Guides Us
To serve the rural community, and to develop and empower it to advance rural initiatives and access basic needs — promoting sustainable livelihoods through self-reliance and community participation.
To facilitate development based on self-dependence and self-sufficiency through effective implementation, promotion and support of integrated rural development, with full participation, ownership and a rights-based approach.
To improve living standards in rural communities through quality education, safe water and sanitation, climate-change adaptation and mitigation, and medical facilities of a substantial standard.
Objects of the Trust
These objectives, set out in our constitution and approved by the Charity Commissioner, define how every rupee we receive may be used.
Education and skills: improve and promote quality education, adult literacy and affordable vocational skills for children and for the young women and men of the rural community.
Public health: improve the quality of public health and provide necessary medical facilities in rural areas.
Natural resources and climate: promote awareness of natural resources and of climate-change mitigation and adaptation.
Environment and cleanliness: promote environmental safety and run cleanliness drives in villages.
Governance
The Sanstha is governed by an eleven-member board of trustees registered with the Charity Commissioner, Nashik Region. Board meetings are held regularly and minutes are maintained, as confirmed in our statutory audit reports.
